Note:

Length of stay in Paraguay can be up to 90 days, and can be extendable to a further equal period, at the discretion of the National Immigration Office and not exceeding 180 days in any twelve-month period. Please note that holders of diplomatic (D), official (O), special (E) and service (S) passports are subjected to a different visa regime.

 

 

The Following requisites are necessary to qualify for a tourist visa for the Republic of Paraguay:

  • One valid official Visa Application form fully completed and signed by the applicant.(download)
  • The original passport valid for at least six months (+1 photocopy from the personal data page).
  • Return air ticket or flight itinerary (+ 1 photocopy).
  • Proof of economical solvency: bank statement (+ 1 photocopy) or 1 photocopy of applicant's Credit Card.
  • For those participating in conferences, seminars, artistic or sports events, and to study in Paraguay, an invitation letter is required.
  • For those travelling for business, a company letter is required, indicating purpose, length of stay, contact name, telephone and address in Paraguay. If the company is granting economic support, then no proof of economic solvency of the applicant is required.
  • Journalist (non correspondents), TV and filming crews & professional photo shots: a letter from the company or institution to which the applicant is linked. When carrying professional equipment, a detail list is required to facilitate procedures with Paraguayan Customs for the temporary importation of the equipments to Paraguay.

Note:

  • Tourist and Business visa are the only types of visa issued by the Embassy.
  • Working and Resident visa, visit the section Immigration Legal Regime.
  • Residents in the UK: make an appointment for interview (by e-mail only: consular@paraguayembassy.co.uk)
  • Consular Working hours: 10:00 AM to 03:00 PM Monday to Friday.
  • Visa fees: Single (valid for one entry only) £57.00 – Multiple (valid for multiple entries) £87.00
  • Company cheques in Sterling Pounds and payable to the Consulate of Paraguay. Payments can only be made by cash.

IMPORTANT:

IN SOME CASES ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS MAY BE REQUIRED. APPLICATIONS FROM COUNTRIES WITH NO DIPLOMATIC RELATION WITH PARAGUAY*, THE PROCESSING MAY TAKE 20-30 DAYS. FIRST ENTRY INTO PARAGUAY MUST BE MADE WITHIN 90 DAYS FROM THE DATE OF ISSUE OF THE VISA. NORMALLY ALLOW 2 TO 3 DAYS FOR VISA PROCESSING, ALTHOUGH FOR SOME NATIONALITIES THE PROCESSING TIME MAY TAKE UP TO 30 DAYS. VISA REQUIREMENTS MAY BE SUBJECT TO CHANGES WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE. NO LIABILITY WILL BE ACCEPTED BY THE EMBASSY FOR THE POSSIBLE CONSEQUENCES OF ANY CHANGES IN REQUIREMENTS OR REFUSAL OF THE VISA.

 

Visa on Arrival

Holders of ordinary passports of the following countries can obtain Visa on Arrival to Paraguay borders: Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Russia, Taiwan, USA. The prices applicable for visas on arrival are the same as per the following details:
